Reathrey Sekong offers a focused dining experience centered around authentic Cambodian cuisine tucked into a quiet corner of Phoenix's East Indian School Road. This full-service restaurant caters to those interested in exploring Cambodian flavors through dishes that highlight fresh ingredients and traditional preparations. It’s the kind of place where the food feels homemade and thoughtfully made, rather than rushed or overly polished.

The atmosphere is casual and unpretentious, suited well for diners who appreciate a relaxed meal without loud distractions. The interior tends to be calm, especially during off-peak hours, making it a good choice for a laid-back lunch or an early dinner rather than late-night dining, as the kitchen seems to slow down toward closing time.

Visitors often come for signature dishes like the Cambodian BBQ Platter, Phnom Penh Noodle Soup, and Lemongrass Soup, each offering a balance of fragrant spices and fresh herbs true to Khmer cooking. Portion sizes generally lean generous, which makes it practical for both individual diners wanting a hearty meal and groups looking to share multiple plates. From charred chicken wings with a crisp exterior to moist pork chops and the delicate amok fish served in banana leaf, the menu invites a mix-and-match approach for those curious to sample a range of flavors.

Service here can be a bit slow on busier days, partly due to limited staff, but there’s a warmth in the hospitality that suggests the team knows their regular customers and takes care to maintain a friendly environment. This can be a welcoming spot for locals familiar with Southeast Asian cuisine as well as travelers seeking a genuine taste of Cambodia away from the more common Asian dining options in the area.

For those planning a visit, midday or early afternoon tends to offer smoother service and a quieter space to enjoy the meal. Parking requires a little attention since the entrance to the lot isn’t immediately obvious from the street, so a heads-up to new visitors can ease the arrival experience.

Overall, Reathrey Sekong fits well into the fabric of Phoenix's diverse culinary scene by providing a homey, flavorful alternative with a clear Cambodian identity. It’s suited for diners who appreciate authenticity over flash, who want to explore nuanced flavors and generous portions in a setting that feels like a calm neighborhood kitchen.

Step out of your comfort zone and into Cambodia! My fist time here and I absolutely love it. Unique and delicious dishes prepared fresh. A little hidden but well worth the drive. The spring rolls were very fresh and paired well with the side sauce, the chicken wings were charred to perfection, very moist but crunchy on the outside. Pork was extremely moist and seasoned well and packed with flavor and I absolutely loved everything I tried. Also, they offer some imported Cambodian beers. Give it a try, you won’t regret it!

My of my favorite Cambodian place to eat. The food is fantastic but the service is a little slow. They only had one server but she was friendly. Food took awhile to arrive but when the food arrives it was delicious.

I flew into Phoenix and only had three days to explore the city and surrounding areas; I’m so glad I made this place a “must go to” during my trip. I ordered the chicken fried rice and the meat platter - both were very generous in portions, delicious, the service was top notch. I ordered an hour before closing and the server was happy to take my order. The food tasted homemade and it definitely hits close to home. Next time I visit, I will try other offerings and beers. I love the decor on the inside. There are pieces of history of Cambodia everywhere you look, and it reminds me of home. A neat find is they have a record of Sinn Sisamouth and Ros Sereysothea (both famous singers) on the wall and playing softly in the background. If you are looking for something different to try, definitely hit this place up. You won’t be disappointed. I look forward to eating here again in the future.

First time here! It wasn't busy when I came here but always wanted to try this place and it did not disappoint! This is the only Cambodian restaurant in the valley and it's really a hidden gem because you can easily miss it if you're not paying attention. The turn corner to the parking lot is not very obvious so plan accordingly. I would recommend going in the afternoon rather late night. The Waiter said that's when they're the most busiest. The bbq selections were delightful and the roasted corn doesn't taste hard but rather soft and flavorful! Their specialty drink is something else and it's worth the try! I'll bring a friend or two the next time I come here!

The food is so good here! I usually get the student noodles or the lemongrass soup, but recently we had the curry soup and the green mango fish. The flavors are beautifully balanced and feel like home cooking. I think more people would eat here if they knew about it.

oh my god this place was a flavor and textural experience. my partner and i are big foodies and this was our first time having Cambodian food and our minds were blown. everything we tried was amazing. amok fish might’ve been my favorite (hard to choose) and it’s so light and delicate in flavor with super soft fish. also get their thai tea!! best thai tea we’ve ever had. the owner is also super lovely and helpful with learning about these dishes so don’t be afraid to ask him stuff!

Amazing food. First time trying Cambodian food, it’s pretty similar to other southeast Asian cuisine like Thai and Vietnamese but with a very comforting twist. It’s like the soul food of Southeast Asia. We order a ton of different dishes and shared family style. Everything was so delicious, we will definitely be back to try more dishes and order our favorites again. Reathrey Sekong is a hidden gem in Phoenix, definitely worth checking out!
